Nutritional Therapy

Postby deirdremn » Wed Jul 14, 2010 9:55 am

Hi, I'm looking for advice on Nutritional Therapy courses.......
From what I can see there are 2 main options - the CNM and the IINH, both of which offer 3 Year part-time diploma courses.

Both colleges "claim" their courses are recognised by independent bodies. In the case of CNM - accredited by IANT (Irish Association of Nutritional Therapy)
IINH - recognised by Nutritional Therapists of Ireland (NTOI - www.ntoi.ie), the independent professional body representing Nutritional Therapists in Ireland

Can anyone advise on the differences etc?

Thanks a mill....

Hi
I am a practicing nutritional therapist in Ireland having graduated last year. I actually trained with another college in Ireland called the Institute of Health Sciences. I loved their course and found it really comprehensive so you should check them out as well.

Regarding the governing bodies, NTOI is completely independent of all the colleges and is affiliated with BANT (The British Association of Nutritional Therapists) which is why all 3 colleges are on their website. I am sure IANT do their best for their members but the problem is that they are affiliated with CNM so are not an independent body and therefore only plug the CNM course. Therefore when CNM say they are accredited by IANT it doesn't really mean anything.

I hope that helps!
