Money fears putting schoolchildren off college, says report
A new report says certain groups in society are put off going to college by money fears and bad career guidance.
The Higher Education Authority's examining why, at a time when the number of school leavers and others going on to third level has been soaring, take-up in some sectors remains low.
Their report finds a number of factors are to blame, including poor career advice, parents who are unfamiliar with higher education and the overall process, and fears that going to college would be too much of a financial strain.
